I’m Back

Oct 12th, 2008 by R. A. Hancock | 0

I am writing this looking out my window at Pikes Peak wearing a thin mantle of snow. Winter is casting asperations in morning frost and encroching on the mountain beauty of Autumn. I am back! After more than five years of absense we are in Woodland Park, Colorado again. After weeks of fasting the Lord directed me to return. Sister Hancock Was not impressed. We had left the area heartbroken, I had suffered a massive stress related heart attack, and bypass surgery. I was told I must move to a lower elevation. With the help of Pastor and Sis.Hitt and the Saints of Jigger Apostolic Church, we moved to Winnsboro Louisiana. Through their kindness and the help of Bro. Sam Parker we were able to move into a beautiful Home. Handicapped though I was; I continued to preach the Gospel and God continued to manifest Himself with signs and wonders and gifts of the Holy Ghost.

My physical recovery has been slow but Divinely precipitated. Sister Hancock has been such a blessing She is a powerhouse of faith and her encouragement was always urging me to excel. We knew that we would return to a Pastorate, but we didn’t know where. After searching throughout the country with no witness, I felt the need to begin fasting and bring our circumstances before the Lord. I had not considered coming back to Colorado, there was too much emotional pain. When the Lord spoke to me, I accepted what he said. I continued to fast and pray and He spoke to me again. Sister Hancock was adament, She was not going, …unless the Lord would speak to her personally. The experience had been too painful, the circumstances that predated my heart attack were too difficult to overcome. I continued to pray. Finally after several months she told me she had heard from God. Exercising her female prerogatives she did not tell me for two months. We have been a team for almost forty eight years, (November 19,) and she has been an integral part of this work, her ministry in prayer and counseling has been a blessing to many throughout our Ministry. The bottom line is that Sister Hancock is indispensable to this Ministry. I had been Preaching since 1957, when we met and married in 1960, She has been a part of my life and the work of God since we met.

Since arriving in Colorado, we have been given a prime piece of property in an exclusive area. The only stipulation is that we build a Church on the property. Pray with us that we can sell property in Colorado and Louisiana to build a work for God here. God bless you and yours.
